A costume display designed for the Cannes Film Festival led to further exhibition design work in a number of French chateaux, English stately homes and other historical sites. This established an early reputation for developing designs sympathetic to the needs of listed buildings and for unusual or difficult locations. These have included caves, castles, tunnels, ruins, a sailing ship, a glassworks, and an 8th century shrine. We have, however, designed many exhibitions for ‘normal’ museum environments!
The expertise and resources of H&H Sculptors Ltd provides H&H Design with considerable ‘design and build’ capability – and enables it to respond to tight construction deadlines. An example of this was Wisbech & Fenland Museum’s anti-slavery exhibition that was designed, constructed and installed in less than two months from the date of being appointed.
H&H Design encourages the involvement of its clients in the design process. The success of this approach is demonstrated by the fact that many return for further projects – and longstanding working relationships have developed with clients as diverse as the Gibraltar Tourist Board and Dublin’s Medieval Trust.
We have been involved in designing displays for artefacts as diverse as a Viking warrior’s bones, Queen Elizabeth I’s saddle, and the Ashes trophy.
